Cotton (gossypium) is a shrubby plant which originates from the Mallow family, native to the tropica! and subtropical regions from both the Old and New World. lmported in Europe by the Arabs this plant can reach up to 1.5mt height and has a long cycling life. lt is cultivated in many countries for the production of fiber cotton used for the production of fabrics.
Cotton used is strictly and throughly brushed and bleached without any chlorine and/or optical whitening addition. At this point the process can commence which is divide into 3 phases:
Mixture of fibers from different balls several batches
Dust removal from the fiber
Exclusive efficiency booster to enhance quality
Carding is a mechanical process that disentangles, cleans and intermixes fibers to produce a continuous sliver suitable for subsequent processing through appropriate machinery. The carding machine consists mainly of one big roller with smaller ones surrounding it. AII of the rollers are covered in small teeth and as the cotton progresses further on, the teeth get finer. The cotton leaves the carding machine in the form of a sliver.
Thanks to a rigorous production process and constant attention to quality Tiras Cotton delivers a finished product of very high standard quality.
